Job summary

Eversource is seeking a field technician for gas distribution systems, including odorant testing, regulator maintenance, valve repairs, and installation tasks across district regulator and gate stations. The role requires the ability to work on-call and respond to emergencies, with responsibilities spanning inspection, maintenance, and basic piping tasks.

Applicants must have a High School diploma or GED and a valid CDL; EEI CAST testing is required for external candidates.

Qualifications

• Experience in regulator inspection and gate station operations and maintenance.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a commercial driver's license.
• Strong aptitude for troubleshooting and field troubleshooting in gas distribution systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform odorant (sniff) tests as required.
• Perform regulator maintenance at district regulator stations.
• Carry out pressure adjustments across the distribution system.
• Inspect and maintain emergency shut-down valves.
• Perform odorizer inspection and maintenance at gate stations.
• Repair valves at regulation and gate stations as needed.
• Install, operate, and maintain boilers, panels, and pilot heaters.
• Purge and pickle gas mains and assist with pressure-in-place projects.
• Perform end-point installations and basic piping tasks.
• Rig, lift, and crane operations as required.
• Work on-call and respond to after-hours emergencies.

Individual will be responsible to cover calls throughout Eversource's gas territory as assigned.
