Job summary

Qualifications

• Education equivalent to high school and experience equivalent to one year of full-time repair and/or maintenance of engines or related mechanical components.
• Educational coursework at technical/trades school may substitute for up to 12 months of required experience.
• Must possess and maintain a Class D driver's license; may need Class A CDL with N endorsement or Class B CDL with conditions.

Responsibilities

• Performs calibration and testing of electronic equipment used in TDOT vehicles and road maintenance gear.
• Repairs mechanical and electronic systems in heavy equipment and vehicles, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and hydraulics.
• Diagnoses, analyzes, and repairs diverse equipment such as tack trucks, snow removal, and milling machines.
• Operates and tests repaired equipment to ensure safe, reliable performance.
