Job summary

Custom Truck One Source Cabot is seeking a skilled technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain truck-mounted equipment in the field. You will work on chassis, aerial devices, digger derricks, cranes, and related systems with a focus on quality and safety.

Experience with diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems is valuable. A valid license and your own tools are required, with overtime and some Saturdays possible. Competitive benefits and opportunities for training are offered.

• Related experience (Shop Tech) preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair and replace damaged parts on a variety of vocational/utility trucks and equipment.
• Provide repair and maintenance on medium/heavy duty trucks with hydraulics and electrical systems.
• Record parts, services and labor for cost tracking and pricing accuracy.
• Submit repair orders to supervisor for budget and cost control.
• Follow safety practices and participate in monthly safety meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Summary:

Primary responsibility is to perform vehicle troubleshooting, repair and maintenance work on chassis and track mounted aerials, digger derricks, cranes, high rail, and other equipment, in accordance with dealer and factory standards, in the field.

• PMs, maintenance and repair on truck-mounted utility equipment such as Boom, Bucket, Diggers, Dump, Service, Forestry and aerial cranes and other truck mounted equipment.
• Technicians work on truck chassis, diesel, hydraulics, diagnostics, electrical etc.
• Monday to Friday, Day - shift, with overtime as needed, limited Saturdays.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license and mechanics tools.

Job Duties:

• Assess, diagnose, repair and/or replace damaged / worn parts on a variety of vocational / utility trucks & equipment.
• Provide repair and maintenance to medium / heavy duty trucks, and background in hydraulics and electrical is a plus.
• Assess, diagnose, repair and/or replace damaged or worn parts for variety of manufacturers of utility equipment to ensure quality standards are achieved.
• Prepare and maintain accurate records of parts, services and labor to track costs so vehicles can be properly priced and reflect the value of quality offered by the company.
• Submit all work/repair orders as required to a supervisor for approval to ensure budgets are maintained and costs of vehicle repairs accurately reflected.
• Perform all duties in accordance with best practices for a safe work environment.
• Attend monthly safety meetings held by Custom Truck One Source.
• Other duties as assigned.

Basic Skills:

• Experience with diesel, medium or heavy truck, or related equipment. (construction, farm, military)
• General mechanical aptitude / knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, construction, farm, or truck
• Basic Computer skills and ability to document repair activity.

Preferred Skills:

• Electrical, schematic / blueprints, hydraulic, welding, and related experience
• Experience with Quick Serve, DTNA, or related diagnostic software.
