Job summary

King Asphalt, Inc. is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to support our local operation.

The role involves preventive and corrective maintenance on asphalt pavers, milling machines, motor graders and related equipment, diagnosing problems, welding and fabrication, and keeping accurate maintenance records using Fleetwatcher. The successful candidate will have at least five years of diesel and hydraulic repair experience, a high school diploma, and a valid driver's license;

Qualifications

• 5+ years of diesel and hydraulic repair experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to work day, night, or weekends.
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet MVR requirements.
• Drug testing and background check required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on heavy equipment.
• Repair Asphalt Pavers, Milling Machines, and Motor Graders.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
• Welding and fabricating as needed.
• Maintain clean work area and follow safety practices.
• Provide updates to Shop Foreman and document repairs.
• Complete required records using Fleetwatcher.

King Asphalt, Inc. is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic for our local operations.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs preventive and corrective maintenance and repairs on a variety of vehicles and heavy equipment.
• Includes Asphalt Pavers, Milling Machines, Motor Graders, etc..
• Diagnose and correct mechanical problems
• Welding and fabricating
• Ability to perform a variety of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic adjustments and repairs on gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles and heavy construction equipment
• Ability to diagnose problems and make the appropriate adjustments, repairs, or replacements to electrical, hydraulic, engine, transmission, drive train, and mechanical systems
• Ability to use a variety of tools including but not limited to personal tools, common shop hand tools, hoist or crane equipment, grinders, welders, power tools, precision mechanic tools
• Maintain a clean work environment and follow safe practices and procedures
• Provide updates to Shop Foreman on all repairs and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
• Complete required record keeping and reporting utilizing company software including Fleetwatcher.
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years experience in heavy equipment mechanics - diesel and hydraulics
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Must be able to workdays, nights, or weekends as needed
• Must be able to meet company MVR requirements and have a valid driver's license
• Employer conducts drug testing and background check
• Complete other assignments as requested.
