Job summary

Sierra Pacific Industries is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to support our Eugene, Oregon sawmill. You will perform preventative and routine maintenance on gas and propane forklifts, loaders, and other equipment, troubleshoot defects, and maintain safety inspections and maintenance records.

Qualifications

• 5 years’ recent experience working on various machines including the above-mentioned equipment.
• Working knowledge of both gasoline and diesel engines, equipment hydraulics, and/or electrical systems
• Preference given to applicants with fabrication and metal work experience
• All applicants must be at least 18 years of age

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and routine maintenance on both gas and propane forklifts, loaders, and other various equipment
• Recognize, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical defects
• Conduct safety inspections of equipment and maintain maintenance records
• Perform duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations
• There is occasional heavy lifting and working in both hot and cold environments
• Work may consist of day and evening hours, with some overtime and weekend work during busy production times

We are seeking a qualified Heavy Equipment Mechanic to work collaboratively with our sawmill in Eugene, Oregon.

About The Position
