Job summary

Pratt & Whitney Columbus Engine Center in Georgia is seeking a Mechanic to overhaul, repair, and assemble advanced jet engines for commercial and military aircraft. The role is hands-on, team-driven, and focuses on restoring engines to peak performance, safety, and reliability.

This is a Weekend position: Friday – Sunday 6:30am – 7:00 pm. You will work on turbine engine maintenance per instructions, disassemble/assemble, and test a jet engine, using common hand tools and fixtures.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• A&P license or Powerplant certificate preferred.
• Experience in disassembly, inspection, assembly or turbine engine test operations.
• Lean Six Sigma familiarity a plus.
• Experience using SAP and Microsoft Office applications.

Job Summary:

As a Mechanic, you’ll play a critical role in the overhaul, repair, and assembly of advanced jet engines that power commercial and military aircraft around the world. What You Will Do:

Work as a member of a team responsible for turbine engine, engine module, or component maintenance in accordance with published work instructions and approved technical data. Utilize common hand tools as well as a wide variety of tooling and fixtures to assemble/disassembly and test a jet engine. Ensure all phases of assembly/disassembly as specified by work instructions, comply with required self‑inspection or peer inspection of critical processes ensuring adherence to quality standards. Monitor and ensure processes meet Safety, Quality and Delivery objectives.

High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent

Qualifications We Prefer:

Aviation engine overhaul and repair experience Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License or Powerplant (P) Certificate Hands‑on experience in one or more of the following disciplines: Disassembly, Inspection, Assembly, or Turbine Engine Test Operations. Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma Experience using Microsoft Office applications and SAP
