Job summary

WLRC in Bridgeton, MO is seeking a Mechanic (Full-Time, 40 hours) to maintain our fleet of ambulances, wheelchair vans, and standard automobiles. You will work with autonomy to ensure vehicles are operationally ready and meet team needs.

The role supports a stable fleet operation at our STL base. Requirements include a high school diploma, 4+ years of experience, valid driver's license with a clean record, ability to lift 50 lbs, EVOC course or option to complete within 30 days, and proficiency

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of four (4) years of experience with references.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Ability to drive company vehicles.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. independently.
• Successful completion of EVOC course or able to complete company course within 30 days.
• Ability to pass pre-employment background check and drug screen.
• Ability to work independently with little supervision.
• Must be 19 years old or older at time of hire for insurance purposes.
• Ability to speak and write English.

Responsibilities

• Tire replacement and balancing, brakes, struts, ball joints, tie rod ends, axle shafts, shocks, alignments, etc.
• Troubleshooting and repairing of A/C and heating systems.
• General maintenance and repair.
• PM inspections and road tests.
• Troubleshooting and repairing electrical issues.
• Engine, transmission, and component replacement.
• Safety device installations (cameras, safes, etc.).
• Travel and work in our service areas as operationally needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Mechanic (Full-Time 40 hours wk.)

Regular Full-time Bridgeton, MO, US

Salary Range: $27.00 To $27.50 Hourly

Under the direction of the Fleet Manager the Mechanic is responsible for maintaining our fleet vehicles including diesel and gas ambulances, wheelchair vans, and standard automobiles. The Mechanic will work with a high level of autonomy and manage their day-to-day activities to meet organizational needs and ensure vehicles are operational ready. Our mechanics are self-motivated and able to work collaboratively as part of the team. Our STL location is the home base for Medic One fleet operations.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Possess tools to perform job duties satisfactorily.
