Job summary

Timken is seeking a Gearbox Mechanic for its Smith Services service center in Princeton, WV. The role involves assembling, testing and painting motors and gearboxes, following customer specs, and ensuring quality throughout the process.

You will work with engineering and customer service to address issues, document work, and participate in continuous improvement. A high school diploma and 5 years of mechanical experience are required, with 3–5 years welding experience, and willingness to work

Qualifications

  • 5 years of mechanical experience required.
  • 3-5 years of welding experience required.
  • Ability to read drawings, sketches and tolerances.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic math skills including rates, ratios and percentages.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, test, disassemble, inspect and paint electric motors and enclosed drive gearboxes.
  • Follow customer specifications and ensure quality of work.
  • Complete all related paperwork accurately.
  • Interpret drawings and GD&T; provide feedback to engineering to prevent reoccurrences.
  • Overtime, weekends and holidays may be required to meet production demands.
