Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Experienced Mid-Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Indianapolis, Indiana.

  • Hourly Pay: $27.00 per hour
  • Certification Bonus of $100 for each new ASE Certification obtained, up to $700
  • Quarterly Bonus: Ryder pays up to $500 each quarter, four times per year
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, weekends off
  • Hours: First shift 9:30 am – 6:00 pm

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or technical certifications preferred
  • Basic tools required
  • Experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine maintenance like oil changes, brake, and tire work
  • Two or more years of classroom training and work experience preferred
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred

This position requires driving Ryder vehicles. To become a Ryder employee, you must:

  • Obtain CDL within 6 months of hire
  • Pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, and road test
  • Pass Ryder background and motor vehicle checks, including drug and alcohol verification for the past 3 years

Responsibilities

  • Vehicle maintenance and repair duties
  • Standard vehicle maintenance and component inspections
  • Preventive maintenance
  • Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic tools
  • Identify root causes and perform repairs
  • Replace defective components
  • Facility maintenance duties
  • Interact with customers/drivers to determine issues
  • Use shop management systems and electronic documentation
  • Follow safety, DOT, and corporate compliance guidelines
  • Support operations as needed, including service island support
