Job summary

Miles Sand & Gravel Company is seeking experienced Diesel Mechanics for a swing shift role in Washington. You will diagnose, repair and rebuild heavy equipment, interpret schematics, and perform field work while upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of heavy equipment maintenance experience or related education.
• Experience with CAT ET, Davie 4, INSITE and VisionLink preferred.
• Welding and fabrication skills are a plus.
• Own a complete set of heavy equipment tools and a roll-a-way toolbox.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair and rebuild engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical and fuel systems.
• Read and apply electrical and hydraulic schematics in repair work.
• Disassemble, clean, inspect, recondition, test and assemble components.
• Utilize diagnostic equipment and specialty tools to identify issues.
• Perform field and emergency repairs in varied weather conditions.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics and service manuals for maintenance.
• Maintain safety, environmental and company compliance.
• Uphold a professional demeanor and assist with general labor as needed.

This is a Swing Shift Position

What You’ll Do:

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair and rebuild engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical and fuel systems, and more.
• Read and apply electrical and hydraulic schematics in repair work.
• Disassemble, clean, inspect, recondition, test and assemble components.
• Utilize diagnostic equipment and specialty tools to identify and repair issues efficiently.
• Perform field and emergency repairs (when necessary) in varied weather conditions.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and service manuals for effective maintenance.
• Maintain strict safety, environmental, and company regulation compliance.
• Uphold a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.
• Assist with facility maintenance and general labor duties as needed

What We’re Looking For:

• 2+ years of heavy equipment maintenance experience, rebuilds and/or relevant education.
• Experience with or willingness to learn CAT ET, Davie 4, INSITE and VisionLink.
• Welding and fabrication skills are a plus.
• Own a complete set of heavy equipment tools and a roll-a-way tool box.V
• Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record (CDL is a plus).
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to work efficiently while maintaining high quality work.
• Capable of performing physical tasks, climbing ladders, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Willingness to work in all weather conditions, with flexible hours, overtime.

• $39.49 to $49.95 per hour.
