Job summary

Sierra Pacific Industries seeks a qualified Diesel Mechanic for our trucking division based in Eugene, Oregon. You will perform preventative and routine maintenance on diesel trucks, troubleshoot mechanical defects, and conduct safety inspections.

We offer up to a $1,500 signing bonus, pay from $28.87 to $36.05 per hour, excellent low-cost health benefits, a 401(k) with company match, retirement contributions, paid vacation, and 10 holidays.

Qualifications

• 1 year of diesel mechanic experience or equivalent
• Experience working the listed vehicles required
• Knowledge of Cummins Insite and Davie diagnostic tools is a plus
• Preference given to applicants with fabrication and metal work experience
• Working knowledge of gasoline and diesel engines
• All applicants must be at least age 18

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and routine maintenance on diesel trucks, pickup trucks, log trailers, and semi-trailers
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical defects
• Conduct safety inspections of vehicles and maintain maintenance records
• Operate equipment as needed
• Perform duties in a timely and efficient manner
• Maintain work area appearance and safety
• Work may include varied shifts with overtime, weekends, and holidays

About The Position

• Perform preventative and routine maintenance on diesel trucks, pickup trucks, log trailers, and semi-trailers
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical defects
• Conduct safety inspections of vehicles and maintain maintenance records
• Operate equipment as needed
• Perform duties in a timely and efficient manner
• Maintain work area appearance and safety
• Work may consist of varied shifts, with some overtime, weekend, and holiday work during busy times

Qualifications

• 1 year of diesel mechanic experience or educational equivalent
• Proven prior experience working the above-mentioned vehicles required
• Knowledge of Cummins Insite and Davie diagnostic tools a plus
• Preference given to applicants with fabrication and metal work experience
