Job summary

Sierra Pacific Industries is seeking a Diesel Mechanic in Oroville, CA to maintain and repair diesel trucks, trailers and related equipment. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure safety inspections and proper record-keeping.

Travel to Lincoln, CA as needed and shifts may include overtime. We offer strong benefits, training and advancement from within, and a retirement plan with employer-paid contributions.

Qualifications

• 1 year of diesel mechanic experience or educational equivalent.
• Experience with the listed vehicles is required.
• Knowledge of Cummins Insite and Davie diagnostic tools a plus.
• Preference for fabrication and metal work experience.
• Working knowledge of gasoline and diesel engines.

We are seeking a qualified Diesel Mechanic for our trucking division based in Oroville, California. This position will assist our truck shop in Lincoln, California as needed. Work location will vary week to week based on services needed at each division.

About the Position

• Perform preventative and routine maintenance on diesel trucks, pickup trucks, log trailers, and semi-trailers
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical defects
• Conduct safety inspections of vehicles and maintain maintenance records
• Operate equipment as needed
• Perform duties in a timely and efficient manner
• Maintain work area appearance and safety
• Work may consist of varied shifts, with some overtime, weekend, and holiday work during busy times
• Travel between Oroville and Lincoln, California required

Qualifications

• 1 year of diesel mechanic experience or educational equivalent
• Proven prior experience working the above-mentioned vehicles required
• Knowledge of Cummins Insite and Davie diagnostic tools a plus
• Preference given to applicants with fabrication and metal work experience
• Working knowledge of both gasoline and diesel engines
• All applicants must be at least age 18
