Job summary

American Flyers offers a Mechanic to Pilot sponsorship program where selected candidates work as an A&P mechanic while earning monthly flight training scholarships in addition to a monthly salary.

Mechanics will receive training for Private, Instrument, and Commercial pilot licenses, with possible extensions to CFIA & CFII. Opportunities to continue with American Flyers as Flight Instructor or A&P are possible after completion.

Qualifications

• Must possess A&P certificates.
• Successful interview.
• Ability to work in the United States; we do not sponsor work visas at this time.
• Fluency in reading, writing and speaking the English language.

Responsibilities

• 50-hour, 100-hour inspections on Cessna 172, Piper100i and Piper Seminoles
• Scheduled and unscheduled daily maintenance
• Air-worthiness directives
• Powerplant and electrical troubleshooting
• General maintenance

The American Flyers Mechanic to Pilot sponsorship program might be just what you’re looking for. Mechanics will earn training for the Private, Instrument, and Commercial pilot licenses, with possible extensions available to also receive certified flight instructor certificates (CFIA & CFII). Opportunities for continued employment with American Flyers as a Flight Instructor or A&P are possible upon completion of this program.
