Mechanic, Class 8

As a Mechanic, Class 8, you will build, rebuild, and repair company equipment based on departmental needs.

Essential Functions & Requirements:

1. Prioritize health and safety by adhering to policies and safe practices.
2. Build, rebuild, and repair all parts of company equipment.
3. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic failures.
4. Read precision instruments like voltmeters, multimeters, and calibrators.
5. Perform general equipment maintenance.
6. Use basic MIG welding for steel and aluminum repairs, when applicable.
7. Operate equipment for repairs and installation.
8. Follow all safety procedures, guidelines, and permits.
9. Support the team with additional duties as assigned.

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:

• At least 1 year of experience in truck trailer maintenance required.
• Chauffer's License required.
• CDL preferred.

Competencies:

• Ability to work safely and alertly.
• Proficiency with maintenance tools and equipment.
• Knowledge of truck systems.
• Understanding of DOT and OSHA regulations.
• Ability to pass Motor Vehicle Record check.
• Reliable attendance.
