Transdev in Salinas, CA is seeking a Maintenance Technician C (Diesel) to diagnose, repair and maintain diesel engines across a range of vehicles and equipment. The role supports A- and B-level mechanics and leads routine maintenance to keep fleets safe and reliable.

Expect a union payscale of $40.00 per hour, with benefits including vacation, sick leave, medical/dental/vision, 401k and company holidays. Requires 1 year diesel experience, ASE certifications, and a mechanic’s tool set; DOT drug

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
• ASE certifications required; ASE certification program provided
• Mechanic’s Tool Set
• Subject to DOT drug testing and physical per DOT Part 40

• Perform repairs and replacements on diesel engines, ensuring optimal functionality.
• Assist A-Level and B-Level Mechanics in advanced diagnostic and repair tasks.
• Execute routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize diesel engine performance.
• Lead diagnostic tests to identify complex issues and determine repair strategies for diesel engines.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks on diesel engines, including overhauling and rebuilding components.

Maintenance Technician C (I)

Currently in Seaside, CA, relocating to a new facility in Salinas, CA, in September 2025

Transdev in Salinas, CA is seeking a C-Level Diesel Mechanic to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across various vehicles and equipment. As a Diesel Mechanic, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our vehicles.

Position Subject to Collective Bargaining Agreement:

• $40.00 hour (Union Collective Bargaining Agreement Payscale)

Benefits include:

• Vacation: 5 days per year

• Paid Sick Leave: 4 hours accrued per month after 90 days

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform repairs and replacements on diesel engines, ensuring optimal functionality.

• Assist A-Level and B-Level Mechanics in advanced diagnostic and repair tasks, contributing to efficient workflow.

• Execute routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize diesel engine performance.

• Lead diagnostic tests to accurately identify complex issues and determine comprehensive repair strategies for diesel engines.

• Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks on diesel engines, including overhauling and rebuilding components to required specifications.

• Other duties as required.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience as a Diesel Mechanic.

• ASE certifications required; ASE certification program provided

• Mechanic’s Tool Set

• Subject to DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.

• The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.

• Work environment will be a combination of both indoors and outdoors.
