Job summary

Rain for Rent in Santa Paula, CA is seeking a Mechanic C to repair and maintain diesel and gasoline pumps and uphold customer relations. This role requires 1-2 years of mechanic experience and a strong safety mindset.

The position includes basic inspections, engine services, pump bearing lubrication, and assembly of pipes and fittings. Flexible scheduling, on-call rotation, and benefits are offered by Rain for Rent.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of mechanic experience
• Ability to perform engine services including oil and filter changes
• Knowledge of pump bearings and lubrication
• Read and interpret parts diagrams and manuals
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends

Responsibilities

• Perform basic inspections while learning SOPs
• Service engines with oil/filter changes including fuel filters
• Grease pump bearings and wheel bearings
• Safely operate cordless/electric/pneumatic tools
• Assemble and secure pipes and fittings per specifications
• Receive, inspect and stock needed parts and tools
• Read diagrams and manuals to apply procedures
• Inspect and test pumps to specifications
• Complete paperwork as required
• Participate in on-call rotation and other duties as assigned

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ability to perform basic inspections while learning RFR sop’s
• Ability to perform engine services as far as oil changes and filter changes including fuel filters
• Ability to properly grease bearings as in pump bearings and wheel bearings
• Understand the safe operation of portable cordless, electric, and pneumatic tools
• Understand the safe operation of shop stationary power tools
• Knowledge of pipe fittings and flanges as pertained to fitting pumps for customers.
• Assemble and secure pipes, fittings, and related equipment, according to specifications.
• Receive, inspect and stock needed products, including oil filters, air filters, pump, hoses, and tools.
• Read, comprehend, and apply information from parts diagrams, owner’s and instruction manuals.
• Inspect, examine, and test pumps using appropriate specifications
• Complete paperwork/electronic documents as required by management.
• Participate in the on-call rotation as needed.Perform all other duties as assigned

Other job competencies required to be successful in this position that are not listed elsewhere include:

• Able to work flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
• Able to use a calculator, cellular telephone, and tape measure/ruler.
• Able to read a map, plan routes, and calculate distances.
• Must be Motivated, Team player, Safety-Oriented, and have a Customer Service orientation
