University of Notre Dame is seeking an entry-level Mechanic B to assist with maintenance, repair, and overhaul of Power Plant equipment and related systems. You will participate in a structured training program to develop skills for independent work.

The Mechanic B is an entry-level position responsible for assisting with the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of Power Plant equipment and related auxiliary systems. This position supports the reliable, safe, and economical operation of utility services for the University.
The Mechanic B works through a prescribed program of training, coursework, and hands-on practical experience designed to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to independently perform the duties of a Mechanic B. Equipment supported by this position includes steam turbine generators, steam boilers, heat recovery steam generators, chillers, diesel generators, air compressors, pumps, fans, and other power plant and utility equipment.
