Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of related mechanical, maintenance, industrial, or utility experience.
  • Preferred completion of a technical school program or apprenticeship.
  • Desire to learn and develop technical skills through hands-on training.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with maintenance, inspection, repair, and overhaul of Power Plant equipment.
  • Assist in maintenance of steam boilers, turbines, chillers, and auxiliary systems.
  • Support maintenance activities for steam turbine and electric-driven chillers for AC.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair auxiliary systems supporting major equipment.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure reliable utility services.
  • Follow safety procedures and departmental standards in all tasks.
  • Participate in classroom and hands-on Utilities Department training.
  • Develop the skills to progress toward fully performing Mechanic B duties.
