Salary: $ 20.10 per hour - base salary (based on verified experience)

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or high school equivalent
• Must possess a valid South Carolina Driver's License
• Demonstrateknowledge in diagnostic and problem solving in vehicles/diesel engines and hydraulic systems; strong communication skills
• Licensed (or eligible to be licensed) as an electrician
• Five (5) or more years of experience in mechanic work/equipment repairs and ASE diesel certified

Responsible To :Director of Operations-Maintenance

Job Duties:

• Maintains neat appearance, courteous conduct, and works amicably with all school and maintenance personnel
• Participates in additional training provided by the Board of Education related to this field of work.
• Diagnose and detect mechanical faults in vehicles and/or grounds equipment manually or by computer diagnosis.
• Test and lubricate vehicle’s engine/grounds equipment and other major components. Examine vehicle/equipment parts to ensure that they are working properly.
• Perform routine maintenance on vehicles/grounds equipment, such as oil changes, lubricating, headlights, windshield wiper blades, tune-ups, replace belts etc. and daily, weekly, monthly and yearly preventive maintenance following maintenance policies
• Follow checklists to ensure that all critical parts are examined and working properly.
• Replace damaged or worn vehicle/equipment parts as needed to ensure proper running of vehicles. Repair/rebuild vehicle/equipment components and restore component parts to OEM requirements.
• Operates tractors, lawnmowers, and other grounds equipment; maintain shrubbery, cut grass, removes undergrowth and performs general landscaping functions for the school district.
• Possesses knowledge of materials, supplies and equipment related to this field.
• Keep supplies ready by inventorying stock, and placing orders after supervisor permission. Verify receipt of all parts
• Verifies vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives, adjusting controls and systems.
• Maintain vehicle records by recording service and repairs. Schedule future maintenance sessions.
• Provide accurate estimates (cost, time, effort) for a repair or maintenance job.
• Possesses and maintains a valid South Carolina Driver's License.
• Perform other related duties as required, as well as all other duties as assigned
