The State of Louisiana DOTD is seeking a Mechanic 4 for District 04 HQ Repair Shop. The role requires operating electronic scanners, engine analyzers, exhaust analyzers, oscilloscopes, testers, meters, and other diagnostic tools. You will participate in DOTD training and ongoing education while handling repairs with limited supervision.
Three years of mechanic experience are required. The position offers a starting hourly salary of $22.52 and advances in a structured state system.
This position is in the Office of Operations of the Department of Transportation and Development and reports directly to the Mechanic Supervisor A. This position serves as a Mechanic 4 for District 04 HQ Repair Shop. The incumbent is required to operate electronic scanners, engine analyzers, exhaust analyzers, oscilloscopes, various testers, meters, plane and two-way radio. Must be knowledgeable in the safe operation of passenger vehicles as well as other equipment operated by the Mechanic 4. The incumbent will participate in DOTD structured training programs and attend all continuing education classes and conferences deemed necessary to facilitate the performance of required tasks. The incumbent must be self-motivated and able to perform duties many times with or without direct supervision and be knowledgeable enough interpret unforeseen conditions as they may arise. This position also requires the incumbent to make minor repairs and perform necessary maintenance on equipment and vehicles used to perform this task.
