Job Description: QED Systems, an established marine engineering, planning, and ship modernization firm, is seeking qualified individuals experienced in marine mechanical applications. The candidate must be able to comply with all applicable safety regulations, work under industrial repair conditions, work in confined spaces, and climb vertical/inclined ladders. Candidate must have familiarity with mechanical systems and components such as overhauling, grooming & repairing various types of equipment onboard Navy ships; experience with centrifugal pumps, vertical package conveyors and valve maintenance. Understanding of technical documents including controlled work procedures (CWP), formal work procedures (FWP), test documents, and reports is preferred.
Experienced (5+ years) Marine Mechanic (Prior Navy) with a complete understanding of production processes and specialty trades functions and tools.
Credit given for U.S. Navy or U.S. Coast Guard mechanical experience.
The individual must also be able to read, interpret, and follow blue prints, drawings, and technical manuals.
Some travel is possible.
High School Diploma required. Military technical school(s) desirable.
U.S. citizenship required. Must be able to meet and maintain eligibility for U.S. Secret Clearance and be able to access military facilities, naval shipyards, and private shipyards.
