Job Summary

Maintenance Mechanic 1st Shift (Sun - Thurs)

Job Description

We are currently seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to join our team in Dayton, NJ. The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge of plumbing, pumps, motors, and general facility repairs, with a minimum of 2 years' experience in a manufacturing or laboratory/educational environment. Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to respond effectively to issues and emergencies are essential. The candidate should also be capable of inspecting contractor work and recommending service improvements.

You Will Spend Your Time...

• Performing scheduled preventative maintenance, unscheduled repairs, and supporting projects
• Examining and diagnosing mechanical and electrical equipment to identify malfunctions and carry out repairs
• Documenting work activities, completing work orders, and managing parts inventory for reordering
• Identifying replacement parts and communicating needs to the supervisor
• Conducting post-repair testing and documenting outcomes
• Responding to emergency situations and involving supervisors as needed
• Adhering to safety and environmental regulations
• Participating in safety trainings and meetings

Required Skills

Required Experience

• High School diploma or GED preferred
• At least 2 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic in a manufacturing setting
• Experience with maintenance and repair of pumps, fluid machinery, valves, pneumatic, and steam systems, as well as processing and packaging equipment
• Basic welding skills, familiarity with shop machinery and portable power tools
• Training in confined space entry, hot work, line breaking, LOTO, and lift truck operation
• Preferred NJ Boiler Operator's License (Low Pressure), OSHA 10, and emergency response training
