Job Summary

Maintenance Mechanic 1st Shift (Sun - Thurs)

Job Description

We are currently looking for a Maintenance Mechanic to join our team in Dayton, NJ. Maintenance Mechanics should have a broad knowledge of plumbing, pumps, motors, and general facility repairs, with at least 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing or laboratory/education environment. Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to react to issues and emergencies are essential. The role also involves inspecting contractor work and recommending improvements.

You Will Spend Your Time...

• Conducting scheduled preventative maintenance, repairs, and supporting projects
• Evaluating mechanical/electrical equipment to detect malfunctions and executing repairs
• Processing work orders and parts identification for reordering
• Identifying replacement parts and communicating needs to the supervisor
• Performing post-repair tests and documenting results
• Reacting to emergencies and involving the supervisor when needed
• Ensuring safety and environmental compliance
• Participating in training and safety meetings

Required Skills

Required Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred
• At least 2 years’ experience as a Maintenance Mechanic in a manufacturing setting
• Experience with pumps, fluid machinery, valves, pneumatic and steam systems, and packaging machinery
• Basic welding and shop machinery skills
• Training in confined space entry, hot work, line breaking, LOTO, and lift truck operation
• Preferred NJ Boiler Operator’s License (Low Pressure), OSHA 10, and emergency response training
