Job summary

Penn Machine Company LLC is seeking a skilled assembler for Blairsville, PA. You will disassemble and assemble transit wheel set assemblies and components, inspect dimensions, and ensure products meet specifications.

Qualifications

• Basic mechanical assembly experience or training certification in a related field is preferred.
• Basic mathematical skills are required.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments is preferred.
• Accuracy in completing reports and understanding procedures is essential.
• Machine shop environment background is preferred.
• Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble and assemble transit wheel set assemblies and components using fixtures, devices and presses.
• Dimensional inspection, documentation and assembly of wheel sets and components.
• Test requalified or manufactured product to specifications.
• Perform magnetic particle and ultrasonic inspection (if certified).
• Clean, mask, paint or apply coatings to components.
• Prepare parts and assemblies for shipment.
• Detailed documentation and recordkeeping.

Currently we have an excellent full-time employment opportunity available in our Blairsville, PA facility.

Job Responsibilities

• Disassemble and assemble transit wheel set assemblies and their components, using proper fixtures, mechanical devices and hydraulic presses.
• Dimensional inspection, documentation and assembly of transit wheel set assemblies and components.
• Test requalified or manufactured product to specifications
• Perform magnetic particle and ultrasonic inspection (if certified)
• Clean, mask, paint or apply coatings to components.
• Prepare parts and assemblies for shipment
• Detailed documentation and recordkeeping

Currently this position is a 1st shift position (10 hour shift Monday-Thursday, 5:00 am-3:00 pm), however, the individual must be willing and able to work overtime, alternate shifts, and/or weekends, when needed.
