Job summary

SavATree in Wyckoff, NJ is hiring a Mechanic responsible for keeping all fleet equipment in top condition through preventative maintenance and timely repairs. You will work in a busy shop, coordinating with managers and field specialists to keep vehicles ready for daily operations.

The role requires hands-on skills with small engines and diesel systems, plus experience with aerial lift equipment, spray gear, and a personal tools set. CDL is preferred and ASE certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with small engine and diesel repair required.
• Experience with aerial lift equipment and spray systems preferred.
• Must have own basic tools and ability to read manuals and diagnose faults.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and major repairs on fleet vehicles and equipment.
• Coordinate repairs and maintenance with Managers and field specialists.
• Review Vehicle Inspection Reports to prioritize work and address issues promptly.
• Order and receive parts and supplies; complete required paperwork for office and vendors.
• Train field specialists on equipment maintenance and safe vehicle operation when possible.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient shop and yard.

Position Summary

As a Mechanic at SavATree, your focus will be ensuring all equipment and vehicles are ready and operating efficiently through proper maintenance and repairs. A typical day may include:

• Performing preventative maintenance and major repairs on fleet vehicles and equipment
• Coordinating repairs and maintenance with Managers and field specialists
• Reviewing Vehicle Inspection Reports to prioritize work and address issues promptly
• Ordering and receiving parts and supplies, completing required paperwork for the office and vendors
• Training field specialists on equipment maintenance and safe vehicle operation whenever possible
• Maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient work environment in the shop and yard

About You

You’re dedicated to quality work, safety, and maintaining equipment at peak performance. You bring:

• Experience in small engine repair and two-stroke engine maintenance
• Diesel engine repair and maintenance experience
• Experience operating and maintaining aerial lift (bucket) trucks
• Experience with spray equipment, tanks, and pumps
• Your own basic tools for engine repair and maintenance
• Ability to read and comprehend instruction manuals, diagnostic charts, and troubleshoot mechanical or electrical issues
• A valid driver’s license (CDL preferred)
• ASE certification a plus
• Authorization to lawfully work in the U.S.

The physical demands of this role must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Employees may frequently lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds and occasionally lift and/or move over fifty (50) pounds.
