Job summary

Hillis-Carnes Specialty Construction Group in Woodbine, MD is seeking a diligent Mechanic to maintain and repair drilling/construction equipment and fleet vehicles. You will perform preventive maintenance, shop and field repairs, DOT inspections, fabrication, and welding.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, valid driver’s license with a good MVR, ability to lift heavy equipment, basic hydraulics experience, and reliable work ethic. CDL A/B is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to meet additional pre-employment criteria.
• Must be able to lift heavy equipment and materials.
• Reliable, motivated with a strong work ethic.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable MVR; CDL A or B preferred but not required.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Proficient with basic computer skills.
• Basic hydraulic experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs of fleet vehicles and drilling/construction equipment (shop and field).
• Conduct DOT inspections.
• Fabrication and welding as required.
• Obtain price quotes from vendors and issue purchase orders.
• Order parts and shop supplies.

Your Role

Hillis-Carnes Specialty Construction Group is actively seeking a Mechanic for our Woodbine, MD office. The ideal candidate should have an in-depth understanding of drilling/construction equipment, light/heavy duty trucks, and basic hydraulics. Daily duties to include preventive maintenance and repairs of fleet vehicles and drilling/construction equipment (both in the shop and out in the field), DOT inspections, fabrication, welding, obtaining price quotes from vendors and requesting purchase orders, and ordering of parts and shop supplies.
