Pomp’s Tire Service, Inc. is hiring a Diesel and Automotive Mechanic to join our team. You will perform services on auto, light truck, and heavy-duty vehicles, emphasize tire work, oil changes, brakes, and alignments, and help keep fleets running safely.

The role requires diesel and passenger automotive knowledge with the ability to use hand tools, tire tools, aligners, and air wrenches. You must be able to lift up to 100 pounds and stand for long periods, with safety and efficiency as a

Qualifications

• Diesel mechanical knowledge and hands-on automotive experience.
• Experience with heavy-duty and passenger vehicles preferred.
• Familiarity with basic hand tools, tire tools, alignment machines and air wrenches.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and stand for long periods.
• Commitment to safety and a clean, organized work area.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical services such as oil changes, tire work, brake and shock replacements, and related maintenance.
• Maintain and replace tires to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
• Care for and maintain tools and equipment for proper function.
• Troubleshoot customer needs and inspect vehicles for additional issues.
• Keep the work area clean and organized to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Complete tasks as assigned by the manager to support operations.

What You’ll Do:

• Perform a variety of mechanical services, including oil changes, tire alignments, brake and shock replacements, and more
• Maintain and replace tires as needed to ensure optimal vehicle performance
• Care for and maintain tools and equipment to ensure their proper function
• Troubleshoot customer needs and inspect vehicles for any additional maintenance or repair issues
• Keep the work area clean and organized to ensure a safe and efficient environment
• Complete additional tasks as assigned by the manager to support operations

What You Need:

• Diesel mechanical knowledge/experience required
• Passenger automotive knowledge/experience required
• Ability to use basic hand tools, tire tools, alignment machines, air wrench and other essential tools
• Ability to lift, push, carry, and/or move a maximum of 100 pounds
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to bend, stretch, lift, push, pull and reach without difficulty. Frequent kneeling and bending over the back
