Job summary

Currahee Club, part of Troon, in Toccoa, GA, is seeking a Full-Time Mechanic to maintain and repair golf course equipment including reels, mowers, tractors, and utility vehicles. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose issues, and ensure safety and logs are up to date.

Ideal candidates have experience with gas/diesel engines, welding skills are a plus, and you should be able to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced hospitality-focused setting.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain golf course equipment including reels, mowers, tractors, and utility vehicles.
• Perform preventive maintenance: oil changes, filter replacements, belt inspections.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues.
• Set Height of Cut (HOC) and sharpen blades as needed.
• Maintain clean, safe shop environment and keep maintenance logs.
• Manage parts inventory and budget adherence.

Currahee Club, located in Toccoa, GA, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a Full-Time Mechanic! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization. Position Overview

Performs major and mechanical repairs on a variety of gasoline and diesel power equipment; keeps all equipment in efficient and operable condition at all times. Organizes and maintains a clean and safe area and maintenance area; performs related tasks as required.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Repair and maintain golf course equipment including reel mowers, rotary mowers, tractors, and utility vehicles.
• Perform preventive maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, belt inspections, and adjustments.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues.
• Sharpen and grind reels, mower blades, and bed knives.
• Set and maintain proper Height of Cut (HOC) on all mowing equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop work environment.
• Keep accurate maintenance logs and repair cost records for each piece of equipment.
• Manage parts inventory and operate within budget guidelines.
• Ensure all equipment meets required safety standards.
• Properly handle and dispose of hazardous materials including oils, batteries, and tires.

Additional Duties:

Assist with golf course maintenance tasks as needed, including:

• Mowing
• Changing cups
• Watering
• Raking bunkers
• Tree work
• Other related course duties as assigned

Education/Experience:

• Certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination and experience.

Physical Demands:

• Frequently stands and walks; uses hands; reaches with hands and arms; stoops, kneels, crouches or crawls.
• Occasionally sits, climbs or balances.
• Regularly talks or hears.
• Regularly lifts up to 10 pounds and occasionally may lift up to100 pounds.
• Occasionally works in wet or humid conditions (non-weather); with toxic or caustic materials; in extreme cold or heat (non-weather); may experience vibration.
• Regularly works in outdoor weather conditions and may face the risk of electrical shock or encounter fumes or airborne pathogens.
• Frequently works in areas near moving mechanical parts.
• Noise level is loud.
