Job summary

Patriot Environmental Services is seeking a skilled diesel mechanic to maintain our fleet of trucks and equipment in California. The role requires attention to detail, safety awareness, and the ability to perform preventive maintenance on diesel tractors and trailers.

The ideal candidate has 5 years of diesel mechanic experience and may need to provide own tools. A Class A CDL is preferred, and the job involves 24/7 on-call duties and adherence to DOT standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required/preferred.
• 2 years of maintenance experience in hazardous waste, hydro-excavation and oilfield equipment preferred.
• 5 years of diesel mechanic experience for tractors and trailers required.

Responsibilities

• Performs general fleet maintenance on diesel tractors and trailers (Vacuum trucks, Roll Off, Hydro trucks).
• Performs safety-related maintenance activities for oilfield equipment and ensures DOT compliance.
• Completes DOT 90-day and annual BIT inspections.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Performs general fleet maintenance on diesel tractors and trailers such as Vacuum trucks, Roll Off trucks and Hydro trucks.
• Performs appropriate activities for the safe and expedient usage of oilfield equipment.
• Completes DOT 90-day and annual BIT inspections.
• Answer 24/7 Emergency Response calls when on uncontrolled standby.
• Follows standard guidelines and company policies and procedures for repair and maintenance of trucks.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Attend follow-up safety training as required.
• Other reasonable directives, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.

Experience, Education And Requirements

• High school diploma or GED highly preferred.
• 2 years of maintenance experience in hazardous waste, hydro-excavation and oilfield equipment preferred.
• 5 years of experience as a diesel mechanic for tractors and trailers.
• Current Class A Commercial Driver License preferred.
• Driving record that meets company standards and current DMV printout, required.
• May need to provide own tools to perform maintenance.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

• Pull/push 50 lbs. unassisted on a frequent daily basis.
• Twist and turn in full range of motion in arms, hands, torso, neck, back, and legs on a frequent daily basis.
• Lift/carry 50 lbs. unassisted on a frequent daily basis.
• Lift items over head on a frequent daily basis.
• Crouch/stoop for prolonged periods.
• Stand 6 or more hours per day.
• Exposed to all environmental temperatures and weather conditions.
• Work long hours.

Pay: $30 - $40 per hour

The compensation for the role will depend on several factors, including the candidate's qualifications, work experience, competencies, and skills, and may fall outside of the range shown.
