Job summary

Patriot Environmental Services is seeking OSHA-minded workers for an on-site environmental services team in the Pomona, CA area. You will conduct emergency response cleanup, hazardous waste handling, and industrial cleaning while adhering to strict safety standards.

You may operate cleanup equipment, manage drum handling, and support facility maintenance. The role requires stamina, flexibility for long shifts, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or preferred.
• 40-hour HAZWOPER certification required.
• Confined Space Entry certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety is the top priority by following safe work practices.
• Perform emergency response cleanup activities including chemical and water spills, and waste handling.
• Sweep, dig, shovel, lift, pressure wash and handle drums to assist cleanup.
• Operate cleanup equipment used in hazardous waste activities.
• Follow policies for control and storage of hazardous substances.
• Attend safety training as required.
• Respond to 24/7 emergency calls during standby.
• Work long hours and overtime on day, night or weekend shifts.
• Other duties as assigned.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Ensure that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner.
• Perform emergency response cleanup activities including but not limited to chemical and water spills, non-hazardous and hazardous waste and toxic materials and equipment decontamination.
• Sweep, dig, shovel, lift, pressure wash and handling drums to assist in cleanup.
• Operate cleanup equipment used in hazardous waste activities.
• Follow policies and procedures for control and storage of hazardous substances.
• Attend safety training as required.
• Comply with the Random Drug Testing Program.
• Perform various housekeeping and custodial duties and other duties as required.
• Assist with maintenance of facility like unloading trucks and other ancillary duties.
• Answer 24/7 Emergency Response calls when on uncontrolled standby.
• Work long hours and overtime during day, night or weekend shifts.
• Other reasonable directives, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.

Experience, Education And Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Some environmental services industry experience preferred.
• Some hazardous waste control experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Driving record that meets company standards and current DMV printout, required.
• 40-hour HAZWOPER certification required.
• Confined Space Entry certification preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

• Pushing / pulling: frequent daily basis
• Twisting / turning: frequent daily basis
• Lift items over head: frequent daily basis
• Standing: 6-8 hours daily
• Crouching / stooping: prolonged periods
• Lifting / carrying: frequent daily up to 50 lbs
• Work in confined spaces or at heights.
• Required to wear a variety of personal protection equipment as required including but not limited to Tyvek suits.
• Required to wear respirators as needed.
• Performs labor intensive activities in all weather conditions during any hours during the day or night.

Pay: $18 - $25 per hour

The compensation for the role will depend on several factors, including the candidate's qualifications, work experience, competencies, and skills, and may fall outside of the range shown.
