Job summary

Priority Waste Resources LLC in Saginaw, MI is seeking a Heavy Duty Machinery Mechanic to repair and maintain refuse vehicles and heavy equipment, including control systems, air brakes, hydraulics, electrical, HVAC, and engine work.

You will scan trucks, troubleshoot issues with electronic tools, assist with DOT inspections, perform oil changes and tire repairs, and ensure uptime through preventative maintenance.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years experience as a heavy-duty technician.
• Experience with maintenance on refuse trucks and heavy machinery.
• Inspect brakes, drivetrain, emissions, hydraulics, transmissions, engine, steering & suspension.
• Commercial Driver's License is a plus but not required.
• ASE Certifications are a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Keeps up on maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
• Performs engine repair and maintenance.
• Performs welding and fabrication.
• Scans trucks and troubleshoots mechanical issues using electronic tools.
• Performs electrical repairs.
• Assists with DOT inspections.
• Completes oil changes and greasing trucks/equipment.
• Repairs tires, including replacement when necessary.
• Performs preventative maintenance on vehicles to enable minimal downtime.
• Safely executes road service calls when necessary to ensure the equipment is being returned in a safe manner.
• Troubleshoots emissions issues.
• Executes work orders and turns into Maintenance Supervisor for company records.

Job Purpose

In your role as a Heavy Duty Machinery Mechanic, you will perform repairs and maintenance on refuse vehicles and heavy machinery including, but not limited to: vehicle refuse bodies and control systems, air brake systems, suspension, steering, suspension, hydraulics, electrical, general engine work, HVAC components, drivetrain, and chassis components.
