Accord Federal Services, LLC is seeking a Mechanic for Rock Island Arsenal on a temporary 6- to 12-month assignment. You will diagnose malfunctions, maintain material handling equipment, and operate and inspect equipment to ensure safe, efficient operation.

The role also includes limited welding, inspections of major assemblies, and completing required paperwork. US nationality with residency, background check and drug screening are required.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum 8 years experience in automotive/heavy equipment maintenance.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety practices.
• Experience with testing, troubleshooting and diagnostic equipment (TMDE).
• Understanding of corrosion prevention, lockout/tagout and basic computer/documentation skills.

Aufgaben

• Perform welding of metal components using brazing and arc/gas welding; fabricate/repair parts.

Mechanic – Rock Island Arsenal-Position Summary

• Analyze malfunctions and repair, maintain MHE equipment. Operate and inspect machines or equipment to diagnose defects, dismantle and reassemble equipment, using hoists and hand tools, examine parts for damage or excessive wear, replace defective parts and test equipment to insure operating efficiency.
• Performs limited welding of metal components together to fabricate or repair products using brazing and a variety of arc and gas welding equipment.
• Welds metal parts together, using both gas welding or brazing and any combination of arc welding processes, performs related tasks such as thermal cutting and grinding, repairs broken or cracked parts, fills holes and increases size of metal parts, positions and clamps together components of fabricated metal products preparatory to welding.
• Perform Technical, Acceptance, Final, and Classification inspections on major assemblies to analyze malfunctions to repair and maintain heavy equipment.
• Operate and inspect machines or equipment to diagnose defects, examine parts for damage or excessive wear, and test overhauled equipment to insure operating efficiency.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience

• Eight (8) years experience in automotive/heavy equipment maintenance.
• Knowledge of OSHA Regulations.
• Use of TMDE Test Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment.
• Understanding of Corrosion Prevention, lock out/tag out and the ability to use a computer and complete paperwork.

Education and Citizenship Requirements

• Education: High School graduate or equivalent.
• US nationality/citizenship and residence, with verbal and written fluency in English.
• Clean background check dating back 7 years.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and must participate in the company random drug test program.
