Job Summary

Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as motors, pumps, conveyors, belts, fans, air conditioners, etc. Examines mechanical equipment to diagnose malfunctions. Adjusts, cleans and lubricates parts of mechanical devices as necessary. Requisitions replacement parts and equipment. Oversees contractors at supervisory/management level.

• Performs manual tasks according to established procedures

Essential Functions

• Maintains manufacturing equipment including conveyors, belts, engines, pumps, fans, etc. using hand and power tools.
• Tests, troubleshoots, and repairs equipment, as necessary.
• Determines and performs required maintenance (cleaning, lubricating, aligning/adjusting parts, calibrating, etc.).
• May also conduct periodic safety and maintenance inspections to evaluate equipment for replacement and identify wear and damage.

Required Qualifications

• Required education and experience: Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 1-2 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience

• Preferred education and experience: Associate's Degree
• Discipline/Major: Technical training preferred

Physical Requirements

• May be requested to work a different shift.
• Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
• May need to stand for long periods of time.
• Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
• Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
• Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required.
• This position is Safety‑Sensitive.
