Job summary

Ruppert Landscape seeks a Mechanic to join our in-house fleet team in the Richmond area. You will maintain and service diesel/gas trucks, commercial mowers, and landscaping equipment to keep operations running safely and efficiently.

Diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance; document service records; and uphold company image standards. A safety-first mindset and good communication are essential for success in this role, with opportunities to grow within the organization.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of hands-on mechanical experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with gas/diesel vehicles and landscaping equipment.
• Safety-conscious and able to follow safety regulations.
• Ability to provide personal tools as needed.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required.
• Good communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform repairs and preventative maintenance on a variety of fleet vehicles and equipment, including power equipment, mowers, trucks, trailers, and other landscape tools
• Recondition vehicles and equipment per company schedule to ensure they meet company image standards and are safe, reliable, and ready for use
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment
• Accurately document and maintain service and repair records
• Provide exceptional internal customer service, prioritizing efficiency, quality, and communication
• Assist with other operational tasks as assigned

Where You Fit In

As a Mechanic on our in-house fleet team, you will play a critical role in maintaining and servicing a wide range of vehicles and equipment, including diesel/gas trucks, commercial mowers, and two-cycle equipment. This role is essential in upholding our company's image and keeping our operations teams working safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform repairs and preventative maintenance on a variety of fleet vehicles and equipment, including power equipment, mowers, trucks, trailers, and other landscape tools

Reports To: Shop Manager

Compensation:

$20.00-$25.00 per hour (Actual compensation offered will be based on the candidate's experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors).
