Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Modernization Mechanic to work in the South Florida area. The role involves maintaining elevators and lifting equipment, ensuring safety, troubleshooting, and resolving mechanical issues.

Responsibilities
  1. Inspect elevators and determine causes of faults, making repairs and adjustments.
  2. Diagnose equipment deficiencies and recommend major changes.
  3. Install, maintain, and repair elevators, escalators, and other lifting devices.
  4. Analyze and repair failures, especially during emergencies.
  5. Troubleshoot mechanical issues and replace defective parts.
  6. Conduct regular inspections for proper functioning.
  7. Respond promptly to emergency repair calls.
  8. Maintain accurate repair and maintenance records.
  9. Provide excellent customer service to clients.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.
  11. Hold a valid Mechanic’s license as required by local authorities.
  12. Complete an apprenticeship or technical training in elevator repair.
  13. Have at least 4 years of elevator experience.
  14. Possess knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
  15. Exhibit strong problem-solving skills and excellent communication.
  16. Follow safety regulations and building codes.
  17. Be attentive to detail and physically capable of lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces.
  18. Hold a valid driver’s license.
Work Environment & Hazards

The role involves working in various settings such as commercial buildings, hospitals, airports, and residential complexes, often at heights or in confined spaces, with potential hazards including electrical shocks, falls, and chemical exposure.

Physical Demands

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and stand for long periods.

Work Contact Group

Moderate contact with internal departments, regulatory agencies, customers, contractors, and management.
