Job summary

SavATree in Norwalk, CT is seeking a full-time Diesel Mechanic to keep our fleet in top condition. You will perform repairs and preventive maintenance, coordinate with managers and specialists, and handle parts ordering and documentation for vendors.

Ideal candidates will have diesel repair experience, own basic tools, and a valid driver's license (CDL preferred). We emphasize safety, training, and a collaborative shop environment.

Qualifications

• Experience repairing diesel engines and equipment in a shop or field setting.
• Ability to read and interpret instruction manuals and diagnostic charts.
• Possession of a valid driver's license; CDL preferred.
• ASE certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure equipment and vehicles are ready and working through repairs and maintenance.
• Coordinate major repairs with Managers and specialists; review Vehicle Inspection Reports.
• Order and receive parts and supplies; complete paperwork for office and vendors.
• Train field specialists on equipment maintenance and vehicle operations when possible.

You'll accomplish this by communicating and coordinating major repairs and maintenance with Managers, as well as listening to specialists and reading Vehicle Inspection Reports and prioritizing your work. You'll be responsible for ordering and receiving parts and supplies, as well as the proper completion of paperwork for the office and vendors. Whenever possible, you'll train field specialists on equipment maintenance and vehicle operations. You'll do it all while maintaining a safe and orderly work environment in the Shop and in the Yard. • Small engine repair experience
• Two-stroke engine repair knowledge
• Diesel engine repair and maintenance experience
• Experience operating and maintaining aerial lifts (bucket) trucks
• Experience with spray equipment, tanks and pumps
• Your own basic tools for engine repair and maintenance
• Ability to read and comprehend instruction manuals and diagnostic charts for purpose of learning and troubleshooting and analyze repair of a mechanical or electrical nature
• Valid Driver's license required, CDL preferred
• ASE certification a plus
• Must be authorized to lawfully work in the U.S.

Pay is $28-$38/hr and includes a $2,500.00 sign on bonus based on experience.
