Job summary

ITU AbsorbTech is seeking a Fleet Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain gas and diesel fleet vehicles in the New Berlin area. You will inspect engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, hydraulics, and electrical systems while keeping detailed work orders.

You will also perform roadside service, install decals, train junior staff, manage safety procedures, and operate snow removal gear in winter. A valid DOT Medical Card and personal tools are required.

Qualifications

• Experience repairing commercial vehicles and working with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Proficiency reading technical drawings and using standard shop equipment and mechanic's tools.
• Safe driving record required.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
• Must possess or obtain a valid DOT Medical Card and provide personal hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair gas and diesel fleet vehicles, including engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, hydraulic lift gates, and electrical systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections in accordance with established maintenance schedules.
• Clean, inspect, and maintain fleet vehicles to ensure operational readiness.
• Complete emergency roadside service calls within the service area as needed.
• Install and remove vehicle decals and replace mechanical components, including motors, pumps, and gearboxes.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete work orders.
• Train new drivers and provide guidance to less experienced fleet employees.
• Operate snow removal equipment and perform de-icing activities during winter weather events.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and company safety requirements.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
