Job Summary

The purpose of the position is responsible for repairs, maintenance and testing of company vehicles, earthmoving plant, and related construction equipment including road graders, gasoline, diesel power tractors and dozers.

Key Responsibilities

• Fault finding, repairs, maintenance of earthmoving equipment.
• Diagnose, disassemble, remove damaged parts, reassemble and test for normal function.
• Prepare for installation; install equipment using hand/power tools, welding and cutting, and rigging equipment.
• Select stock, set up machines, use precision measuring equipment, operate machining equipment, and check part functioning.
• Analyze part failure/malfunction, consider alternatives, use precision measuring equipment, and sketch revisions of new parts.
• Perform routine scheduled maintenance tasks related to lubrication, filter systems, drive components, equipment adjustment; conduct condition monitoring measurements; perform tests on plant equipment.
• Monitor HVAC functioning; perform routine maintenance and minor repairs; prepare brief reports on equipment condition.
• Provide technical advice to construction plant users.

Safety Management

• Maintain a safe working environment according to safety policy and procedures.
• Maintain company and legal site safety requirements, including safety of working conditions, plant and equipment, and issuance of safety equipment and clothing.
• Ensure timely corrective action for non-compliance.
• Document all safety incidents.
• Follow through to maintain quality and productivity standards.
