Civil-Constructors is seeking an Equipment Mechanic - Earth Moving to inspect, maintain, and repair heavy earth moving machinery across job sites and yards.

You will diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues, replace worn parts, follow safety rules, and document work orders while coordinating with equipment operators and maintenance staff.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience repairing and maintaining heavy equipment or similar machinery.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and schematics.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Physical ability to perform strenuous tasks and work outdoors.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and regulations related to heavy equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Must have own tools.

Job description

The Equipment Mechanic - Earth Moving is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing heavy earth moving machinery, such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and graders. This position ensures equipment operates safely and efficiently, supporting construction, mining, and related projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on earth moving equipment according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and determine corrective actions.
  • Replace and repair parts such as engines, transmissions, brakes, and steering systems.
  • Inspect equipment for safety compliance and proper functioning.
  • Document maintenance activities and equipment status reports.
  • Use diagnostic tools and manuals effectively.
  • Work collaboratively with operators and other maintenance staff to resolve technical issues.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory compliance requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience repairing and maintaining heavy equipment or similar machinery.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
