Job summary

Phillips Infrastructure is seeking a versatile maintenance technician to inspect, maintain, and repair vehicles and machinery in our Knoxville facility. You will use a range of hand and power tools, perform preventive maintenance, and diagnose equipment issues to keep operations running smoothly.

The role requires basic mechanical skills, attention to safety, and the ability to read manuals and parts catalogs. A high school diploma and at least one year of relevant experience are preferred.

• High School diploma preferred; one year of relevant maintenance experience.
• Pre-employment physical examination required.

Responsibilities

• Use tools ranging from hand and power tools to precision measuring instruments and testing devices.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance to keep machines running smoothly and buildings in good condition.
• Inspect, operate, or test machinery to diagnose malfunctions.
• Diagnose mechanical problems and consult manuals as needed.
• Assemble, install, or repair wiring and electrical components.
• Inspect drives, motors, belts, fluids, replace filters following checklists.
• Clean or lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, etc.
• Adjust functional parts using hand and power tools.
• Repair or replace defective parts and reassemble equipment.
• Maintain repair records.

Summary:

Inspect, maintain, and repair vehicles and machinery.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices
• Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly and operate efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate
• Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions
• Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary
• Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical or electronic components, machinery, or equipment
• Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following checklists
• Clean or lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, or other parts of machinery
• Adjust functional parts of devices or control instruments using hand and power tools
• Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment
• Maintain repair records

Education and Experience:
