Job summary

Silgan Containers Manufacturing Corporation in Hoopeston, IL, is hiring a Press Line Mechanic to support our metal food packaging operations. You will operate and maintain presses, ensure safety, and help drive production quality on second and third shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalency.
• Industrial production experience preferred.
• Familiarity with measurement equipment and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Service, operate, maintain, overhaul and monitor equipment as assigned.
• Maintain production of standard quality ends as defined in quality standards.
• Perform inspection procedures and enter data into Windows-based systems.
• Demonstrate the ability to efficiently maintain and overhaul assigned equipment.

What you'll do:

• Service, operate, maintain, overhaul and monitor sheet feeder, presses, compound liners, elevators, conveyors,compound system, andother pieces of equipment as assigned

• Maintain production of standard quality ends as defined in our quality standards

• Perform inspection procedures at the scheduled intervals, enter the corresponding data into a Windows-based computer, and react accordingly to any out-of-standard conditions

• Demonstrate the ability to efficiently maintain and overhaul assigned equipment

We need you to have:

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalency

• Industrial production experience preferred

• Familiarity with measurement equipment and procedures

• Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and drawings, handbook specifications, equipment manuals, parts lists, and other written materials
