Job summary

Speedy Concrete Cutting, Inc. in Fort Lauderdale, FL is seeking an experienced Mechanic to maintain, diagnose, repair, and service specialized equipment used in concrete cutting and drilling operations.

You will work on hydraulic, electrical, gas, and diesel systems while supporting field operations and project timelines. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of mechanic experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to manage maintenance records.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of mechanic experience in field service or shop setting.
• Ability to diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical, gas, and diesel systems.
• Knowledge of basic electrical, hydraulic, and engine principles is required.
• Must be able to read and write clearly, and keep accurate maintenance records.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair concrete cutting, coring, sawing, and drilling equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance on hydraulic, diesel, and electrical-powered equipment/vehicles.
• Maintain clean, accurate maintenance records and inventory logs.
• Report issues to Branch/Operations Manager and Safety Director.
• Assist with safety checks and PPE compliance as required by OSHA and company policy.
• Lift/move objects up to 50 lbs.

Position Overview

The Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, repairing, and servicing the specialized equipment and vehicles that support Speedy Concrete Cutting, Inc’s field operations. This role plays a critical part in ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting the safe and efficient execution of projects. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude and experience troubleshooting hydraulic, electrical, gas, diesel, and small engine systems used in concrete cutting and drilling equipment. This position offers the opportunity to work with specialized industry equipment, contribute directly to operational success, and grow within a fast‑paced and expanding organization. Key Responsibilities

• Diagnoses, troubleshooting, and repair concrete cutting, coring, sawing, and drilling equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance on hydraulic, diesel, gas, and electrical‑powered equipment/vehicles
• Knowledge of basic electrical applications, hydraulic systems, small gas engines, diesel engines, use of basic hand tools
• Maintain a clean and accurate maintenance record, repairs log, and parts inventory
• Bring problems to the attention of the Branch Manager, Operations Manager, and our Safety Director
• Lifting/Move objects up to 50lbs
• Be able to safely inspect and address all required personal protective equipment as required by OSHA, ANSI and company policy

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience of mechanic and equipment maintenance
• Knowledge in construction or related mechanical skill field (concrete cutting experience a plus)
• Ability to read/write/ mathematical Skills
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills is a must
• Communication Skills
• Ability to follow directions
• Valid driver’s license with clean record and ability to travel locally
• Must pass background check and drug screening
• Strong focus on safety, precision, and teamwork
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple repair priorities
• Comfortable working outdoor, and confined environments
