Job summary

Core & Main LP is seeking a maintenance assistant to ensure vehicle and equipment needs are met through service, maintenance, and minor repairs. You will inspect mechanical components, document activities, apply safety labels, and assist with refueling and supply management under supervision.

You will support senior staff on complex projects, report safety issues, and uphold company standards in a dynamic environment across municipal, private, and contractor operations nationwide.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and 1+ year of related experience.
• Experience in the mechanical field is preferred.
• Willingness to learn and follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintain records of basic maintenance and repairs performed on equipment.
• Apply decals, safety warnings, and company IDs as needed.
• Complete work orders under supervision for internal and external repairs.

Job Summary

Ensures the company’s vehicle and equipment needs are met by performing service, maintenance, and minor repairs. Key duties include inspecting and repairing mechanical components, documenting maintenance activities, applying safety labels, and completing work orders under supervision. The role assists with equipment refueling, supply management, and supports senior staff on complex projects while reporting safety issues and upholding company standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintains accurate records of basic maintenance and repairs performed on equipment.
• Applies and maintains decals, safety warnings, and company ID stickers as needed.
• Completes work orders under supervision for internal and external repairs.
• Assists with minor repairs of mechanical equipment.
• Supports maintenance of company vehicles.
• Checks and refuels equipment as directed.
• Assists senior mechanics with complex repair and maintenance projects.
• Reports safety violations to supervisor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 1+ year(s) of experience in a related area.
• Experience in the mechanical field is preferred.

Physical/Environmental Requirements

• Works in a generally comfortable environment but may be exposed to temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noises, and fumes.
• Requires intermittent periods of physical activity, including walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting, and maneuvering material or equipment (which may be heavy or awkward).
