Job summary

Ruppert Landscape is seeking an in-house Mechanic to maintain and service our fleet, including diesel and gas trucks, commercial mowers, and landscape tools. The role requires hands-on experience and a safety-first mindset in a fast-paced shop environment.

Responsibilities include diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and accurate record-keeping, with opportunities for growth and development. Competitive pay and benefits are offered based on experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of hands-on mechanical experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with gas/diesel engines and landscaping equipment.
• Bilingual ability in English/Spanish is preferred but not required.
• Must be able to supply personal tools as needed.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair fleet vehicles and equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance on trucks, mowers, trailers, and tools.
• Recondition vehicles twice yearly to meet safety and image standards.

Where You Fit In

As a Mechanic on our in-house fleet team, you will play a critical role in maintaining and servicing a wide range of vehicles and equipment, including diesel/gas trucks, commercial mowers, and two-cycle equipment. This role is essential in upholding our company's image and keeping our operations teams working safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform repairs and preventative maintenance on a variety of fleet vehicles and equipment, including power equipment, mowers, trucks, trailers, and other landscape tools
• Recondition vehicles and equipment twice a year to ensure they meet company image standards and are safe, reliable, and ready for use
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment
• Accurately document and maintain service and repair records
• Provide exceptional internal customer service, prioritizing efficiency, quality, and communication
• Assist with other operational tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

• A safety-first mindset with a commitment to adhering to safety regulations and promoting safe work practices
• Minimum of one year of hands-on mechanical experience
• Strong mechanical aptitude, especially with gas/diesel vehicles and landscaping equipment
• Ability to supply personal tools as needed to perform the role
• Positive attitude and a willingness to learn and grow within the organization
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Keen attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality
• Experience with diesel engines and bilingual ability (English/Spanish) are preferred but not required

Reports To: Shop Manager

Compensation: $20.00-$25.00 per hour (Actual compensation offered will be based on the candidate's experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors).
