Job summary

Keesen Landscape Management is seeking a reliable Small Engine and Light Truck Mechanic to support landscaping operations in Centennial, CO. The role maintains the fleet of vehicles, trailers, and engine-powered equipment, with emphasis on safety and reliability.

The candidate should have prior mechanic experience, welding skills, and ability to work flexible hours including weekends and snow events. Strong communication with team, vendors, and clients is essential.

Qualifications

  • Valid Colorado Driver's License required.
  • Previous mechanic experience required.
  • Welding/metal fabrication experience preferred.
  • Ability to look up and order parts and materials.
  • Basic computer skills; proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Bilingual abilities desired.
  • Ability to lift/push/pull/carry up to 50 lbs as needed.
  • Ability to manage a small team (1–2 directs) during peak season.

Responsibilities

  • Keeps equipment available for use by inspecting and testing; performs preventive maintenance (oil changes, blade sharpening, belts/hoses, filters, tire checks, lubrication).
  • Maintains equipment by listening to operator complaints and addressing issues.
  • Cleans, washes, and paints equipment to maintain appearance.
  • Records service and repairs for equipment.
  • Keeps shop equipment operational by following procedures, troubleshooting, and arranging repairs.
  • Completes minor repairs with minimal supervision.
  • Adheres to quality and safety standards.
  • Operates all equipment and tools safely and competently.
  • Communicates professionally with vendors, clients, and team members.
  • Performs related tasks to support maintenance and organization goals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job description

Keesen Landscape Management is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Small Engine and Light Truck Mechanic to support landscaping operations. This role is responsible for maintaining the fleet of vehicles, trailers, and engine operated landscaping equipment. The ideal candidate takes pride in their equipment, communicates well with team members, clients, and leadership, and understands the demands of landscape and snow work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Keeps equipment available for use by inspecting and testing; completing preventive maintenance such as oil changes, sharpening blades, replacing belts & hoses, replacing filters, checking tire pressure, clean or lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, or other parts of equipment, etc.
  • Maintains equipment functional condition by listening to operator complaints
  • Maintains equipment appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting
  • Maintains equipment records by recording service and repairs
  • Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
  • Completes minor repairs as directed with little or no assistance
  • Adhere to quality and safety standards
  • Demonstrate competency in operating all equipment and tools needed to perform daily tasks
  • Communicate professionally with business partners (vendors, clients) and internal employees
  • Accomplishes maintenance and organization mission by completing related tasks
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Valid Colorado Driver's License
  • Previous mechanic experience required
  • Welding/Metal fabrication
  • Ability to manage small staff of 1-2 direct reports based on season
  • Strong vendor relationships
  • Any mechanical certifications and service school pertaining directly to our fleet
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge in Microsoft Office
  • Experience looking up and ordering parts and materials
  • Ability to work flexible hours, weekends (to include overtime), and on-call during snow events
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
  • Ability to lift/push/pull/carry up to 50 lbs as required by job duties
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions
  • Organizational experience is a must for administrative duties
  • High detail expected regarding safety
  • Bilingual (desired)

Work schedule is based on a 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday during normal hours of operation. Overtime may be required. Schedule can be affected by season or emergencies as well.
