Job summary

Primetals Technologies USA is seeking a 2nd shift Mechanic at our Blytheville, AR facility to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot equipment, and support on-site and customer locations.

Ideal candidates have industrial/mechanical maintenance experience, a current valid driver’s license, and the ability to read measuring instruments; travel to customer sites is occasional.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Ensure operation of machinery and equipment by performing preventive maintenance on production machines per manuals and specs.
• Identify problems by observing machinery in operation and using measuring/testing tools.
• Remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, and hand/power tools.
• Adjust equipment parts by inspecting used components with calipers and micrometers.
• Maintain safe, clean work area and comply with rules and procedures.
• Travel to customer locations as needed, including overnight stays.

Our Blytheville, AR facility is currently seeking to fill a 2nd shift Mechanic position.

Application & Eligibility

Applicants must pass a pre-employment physical exam and drug screen.

Classification and base pay rate will be dependent upon skillset and prior experience.

Duties of the mechanic will be performed in-house and on location at customer site.

Requirements

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
• Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Removes defective parts by dismantling devices, using hoists, cranes, hand and power tools.
• Determines changes in dimensional requirements and adjusts functional parts of equipment by inspecting used parts, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
• Controls downtime through use of effective routine preventive maintenance techniques.
• Conserve’s maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies efficiently to accomplish job results.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Work is conducted within the Primetals work location and at customer locations across the U.S.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Travel to customer locations required, occasionally requiring overnight stay.

• Frequent: Walking, standing, reaching, grasping, pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying of twenty (20) lbs or less.
• Occasional: Climbing, kneeling, crouching, lifting and carrying of fifty (50) – thirty (30) lbs.
