Job summary

Primetals Technologies USA is seeking a 2nd shift Mechanic in Blytheville, AR to perform preventive maintenance on production equipment and troubleshoot issues. The role involves working on-site at the Primetals facility and customer locations across the U.S.

Applicants must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen. Candidates should have industrial maintenance experience and be able to read measuring instruments, with travel including overnight stays.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on production equipment per manuals and specs; troubleshoot issues.
• Identify problems by observing equipment and using measurement tools.
• Remove defective parts using hoists, cranes and hand/power tools.
• Check dimensional changes and adjust parts with calipers/micrometers as needed.
• Minimize downtime through effective maintenance planning and execution.
• Conserve resources by using tools and supplies efficiently.
• Keep the work area safe and clean and follow procedures.
• Work at Primetals facility and at customer sites across the U.S.
• Travel to customer locations; overnight stays may be required.
• Support team goals and perform related tasks as needed.

Our Blytheville, AR facility is currently seeking to fill a 2nd shift Mechanic position.

Applicants must pass a pre-employment physical exam and drug screen.

Classification and base pay rate will be dependent upon skillset and prior experience. Duties of the mechanic will be performed in-house and on location at customer site.

Ability to read and interpret measuring instruments

Preferred candidates will possess previous industrial/mechanical maintenance experience

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
• Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
• Removes defective parts by dismantling devices, using hoists, cranes, hand and power tools.
• Determines changes in dimensional requirements and adjusts functional parts of equipment by inspecting used parts, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
• Controls downtime through use of effective routine preventive maintenance techniques.
• Conserve’s maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies efficiently to accomplish job results.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Work is conducted within the Primetals work location and at customer locations across the U.S.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Travel to customer locations required, occasionally requiring overnight stay.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

Work is performed at ground level and above.

Frequent: Walking, standing, reaching, grasping, pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying of twenty (20) lbs or less.

Occasional: Climbing, kneeling, crouching, lifting and carrying of fifty (50) – thirty (30) lbs.
