Job summary

Barton Supply is seeking a skilled mechanic in Aurora, Colorado, to maintain and repair diesel and gas-powered trucks as well as heavy equipment like forklifts and cranes. This role is essential for ensuring reliability and efficiency in our fleet.

Successful candidates will have at least 3 years of experience in gas and diesel engines and will benefit from a comprehensive package including 401(k) matching, medical insurance, and performance bonuses.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working on gas and diesel engines, heavy equipment.
  • Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair diesel and gas-powered fleet trucks.
  • Service and repair heavy equipment, including forklifts and cranes.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and preventive checks.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues with vehicles and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair diesel and gas-powered fleet trucks.
  • Service and repair heavy equipment, including forklifts and cranes.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and preventive checks.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues with vehicles and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Maintain detailed records of all repairs and services.
  • Assist with emergency breakdowns and road service calls.
  • Consult the customer and read work orders to evaluate the tasks required.
  • Prepare work plans after fully scoping out the issues.
  • Run diagnostic tests on diesel engines and interpret the results to offer suitable solutions.
  • Inspect vehicle systems, including suspensions, steering and exhausts.
  • Repair or replace vehicle transmissions, brakes, engines and other associated parts.
  • Conduct field visits in the case of an emergency or sudden breakdown.
  • Test drive repaired vehicles to gauge their performance.
  • Complete oil changes, wheel balancing, alignment and brake checks.
  • Maintain records of parts inventory and serviced vehicles.
  • Perform and maintain DOT inspection compliance on fleet vehicles and trailers.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working on gas and diesel engines, heavy equipment.
  • Certification in Automotive or Diesel Technology is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
