Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Read, write and understand English to carry out instructions.
  • Proficient in using maintenance manuals and schematics.
  • Possess tools up to 1 inch sockets with up to 1/2 inch drive.
  • 1–3 years of fleet/work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for local maintenance scheduling and performance to ensure equipment dependability.
  • Perform all duties of a skilled maintenance technician following recognized procedures as required.
  • Read and use maintenance manuals, schematics, blueprints and related documents to complete work assignments.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and hydraulic problems and resolve within established timeframes.
  • Maintain complete maintenance records and conduct scheduled and unscheduled inspections on equipment.

Position Overview

Mechanics play an important role in ensuring proper performance, safety and reliability of vehicles and ground service equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Including but not limited to)
  • • Accountable for local maintenance scheduling and performance to ensure equipment dependability;
  • • Perform all duties of a skilled maintenance technician following recognized procedures for such work, as required;
  • • Ability to read and use maintenance manuals, illustrated parts catalogs, schematics, blueprints, drawings, and other related maintenance documents to complete work assignments;
  • • Ability to troubleshoot electrical and hydraulic problems and resolve within an established timeframe;
  • • Maintain complete and accurate maintenance records and conduct scheduled and unscheduled inspections on equipment;
Required Skills and Experience
  • • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • • Must be at least 18 years old;
  • • Must be able to speak and hear efficiently;
  • • Basic to intermediate computer skills;
  • • Effective time management and organizational skills to manipulate multiple tasks and conflicting deadlines at once;
  • • Knowledge of fluid types, diesel powered machines and tools including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance;
  • • Maintain and treat all information as confidential;
  • • Must be able to read, write, understand and carry out instructions in English;
  • • Must be able to verbally direct in English;
  • • Possess the tact to deal with all levels of employees and client representatives;
  • • Proven knowledge and use of standard and specialty tools and specialized testing equipment (i.e. photo tachometer, diagnostics tools and hardware, scanners and meters);
  • • A valid driver’s license is required for this position.
  • • Candidates must have your own basic set of tools (sockets/wrenches) up to 1" in size and up to 1/2" drive.
  • • 1-3 year of experience work / fleet work
  • • Be able to perform routine maintenance as but not limited to oil change, filter replacement, lubrication, battery check
  • • Able to troubleshoot and diagnostic electrical system, hydraulic system, air and DPF, SCR EGR system
  • • Must have some knowledge of basic understanding of diesel and gasoline engine.
Work Environment
  • • Physically strenuous, prolonged periods of time standing with exposure to noise (may be excessive at times), safe but potentially unpleasant odors, varying temperatures and humidity, in and around heavy moving equipment.
Physical Demands
  • • Must be able to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms, speak and hear efficiently;
  • • Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, pushing and pulling;
  • • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
