Job summary

Omega Morgan, Inc. is seeking a skilled mechanic to perform difficult repair and maintenance work on vehicles, semis, trailers, and equipment. You will conduct inspections, diagnostics, and repairs, and you may be assigned related duties as needed.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of experience, own their tools, and can work with air brakes, electrical, fuel systems, and hydraulics. DOT inspections and BIT inspections are essential parts of the job, with strong diagnostic and repair skills

Qualifications

• 3+ years of mechanic experience with vehicle and equipment repair.
• Own your own tool set for field and shop work.
• Experience repairing semi-trucks and trailers, including electrical, fuel, hydraulics and air brake systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate mechanical systems including electronics, hydraulics and air brakes.
• Run diagnostics on vehicles and equipment (Cummins, Ford Power Stroke, etc.).
• Perform regular inspections and scheduled maintenance.
• Complete repairs on worn components and parts.
• Maintain daily maintenance and repair logs.
• Remove unsafe equipment and report to supervisor.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES/ Other Duties As Assigned

• Know how to operate specific mechanical systems including electronics, hydraulics, and air brakes.
• Running diagnostics on different vehicles and equipment. (Cummins, Ford Power Stroke, etc.)
• Regular inspections and scheduled maintenance.
• Complete any repairs that are needed such as repairing worn-out machine parts, etc.
• Daily maintenance and repair logs.
• Removes unsafe equipment from facility operating area and notifies supervisor.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Abilities, And Skills Requirements

• 3+ years mechanic experience
• Must own their own tools.
• Knowledge in the repairs semi-trucks/trailers
• Experience working with air brakes, electrical, fuel systems and hydraulics.
• Must be qualified to perform a DOT inspection on trucks and trailers.
• Be able to complete a 90-day BIT inspection.
• Ability to use hand and power tools to repair trucks and trailers.
• Ability to read repair manuals.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Excellent mechanical repair skills.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to operate a computer.
